Pokemon Champions iOS Android Release Date Time Maintenance Warning
Pokemon Champions Mobile Launch: Date, Time, and Nintendo Warning

Pokemon Champions, the battle-focused Pokemon app, is finally getting a full release for iOS and Android after debuting on Nintendo Switch a few months ago. The game strips away traditional RPG exploration, allowing players to recruit Pokemon from Pokemon Home or the in-game Roster Ranch instead of catching them in the wild.

Release Date and Time

The mobile version of Pokemon Champions launches on June 17, 2026. The rollout begins after scheduled server maintenance, with UK players able to start playing at 7am BST. Server downtime is set from 3am to 7am BST on June 17, according to the official Pokemon Champions X account.

Outside the UK, maintenance starts at 7pm PT / 10pm ET on June 16 in the US, and at 4am CET in Europe. The Nintendo Switch version will also be offline during this period.

Important Nintendo Account Warning

Nintendo has issued a crucial warning for players who already own the Switch version. When first launching the mobile app, you must link your Nintendo account to continue progress. If you skip this step, linking cannot be done later, and a full reinstall will be required to connect accounts.

An official tweet states: "Don't forget to link your account first! In order to play the mobile version using the same account as the Nintendo Switch version, linking with a Nintendo Account is required. If you are already playing the Nintendo Switch version, linking is only possible when first launching the game."

What to Expect

Pokemon Champions focuses on battling with standard rules, removing the exploration and catching elements of mainline games. Players build teams from their existing Pokemon collection via Pokemon Home or by acquiring new ones at Roster Ranch. The mobile release brings this experience to smartphones and tablets, expanding accessibility beyond the Switch.
