Lidl is bringing the Lupilu Kids' Snow Jacket to more than 1,000 stores across the UK on Thursday, November 12, priced at £9.99. The jacket offers a budget-friendly alternative to similar children's coats sold at Argos for £38 and Petit Bateau for £84.
Nine designs and practical features
Shoppers can choose between nine designs: Model 4, La Dolce Vita, Lilac/Navy Colour Black, AOP 1, AOP 2, Avengers, Black Low Cut, Red and Blue, and Light Blue. The jacket is wind and waterproof with sealed main seams, and the outer can withstand a hydrostatic head of 3000mm. It includes reflective decorative elements, a warm fleece lining, a full zip with chin guard, an elasticated hood with peak, sleeves with inner cuffs, zipped pockets, a snow skirt, and a longer length back. It also features a practical name label inside, a YKK zip, and is suitable for tumble dryers. The jacket is available for ages 2-8 years and is made from 100% polyester.
Comparison with higher-priced alternatives
The Lidl jacket could be seen as a bargain alternative to the MONSOON Water Resistant Colourblock Rain Jacket at Argos, priced at £38 and suitable for children aged two to 13. The Argos jacket has a similar aesthetic, described as "Right as rain. It has a less waterproof design, given its fluffier and more comfort-focused material. The Petit Bateau jacket features a straight cut, a high neck, two patch pockets on the front, and a zip fastening. Petit Bateau offers standard home delivery to the UK for £4.95, which becomes free on orders over £75.
