Fans of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time can now pre-order the Electric Ocarina of Time from the Nintendo Store in the US, priced at $49.99. However, UK availability and pricing have not yet been announced.
Electric Ocarina Features and Modes
The Electric Ocarina is designed for use with the sound recognition feature in the upcoming Switch 2 remake. Instead of blowing into the instrument, players push a mouthpiece button and press finger buttons to create tunes. It includes 12 built-in tunes and a Free Play Mode, with an Auto-Play Mode that can play the songs with the press of a button.
The accessory also features a volume control dial and a headphone jack for connecting headphones or an external speaker. The official description notes that when a song is played, the Switch 2 system picks up the sound and triggers the corresponding in-game action.
UK Availability and Release Date
UK fans are still waiting for details on when they can pre-order the device and its cost. If Nintendo follows the same pattern as last week, the Electric Ocarina could be available for UK customers on the morning of September 15. An authentic playable Ocarina is also expected to go on sale in the future.
Game Features and Integration
The Ocarina of Time remake, releasing November 5, features improved visuals with greater draw distances and more detail. It includes new quality-of-life upgrades such as a dash ability, a dedicated jump button, and a fully controllable camera. Players can also hum Ocarina tunes into the microphone or play an actual instrument for authenticity.
The game integrates with the Zelda Notes app, which allows players to check accomplishments, test knowledge, and create their own ocarina melodies. The game must be purchased separately from the Electric Ocarina.
