Amazon Music Unlimited is offering Prime subscribers four months of free access, or three months free for non-Prime members, in a deal that runs until the New Year. The promotion, available to those who sign up by October 10, lets listeners save up to £47.96 on the premium ad-free platform, which hosts 100 million songs, along with top podcasts and a catalogue of audiobooks.
The service usually costs £11.99 per month for Prime members or £12.99 for those without Prime. The offer is designed to cover the autumn and winter months, including the festive party season.
What the Service Includes
Amazon Music Unlimited removes shuffle-based listening, allowing users to play any song, podcast, or audiobook on demand. It also offers unlimited skips, upgraded audio quality, and more extensive offline download capabilities across devices.
Subscribers also get access to one audiobook per month from a selection of more than 800,000 titles from Audible, as well as exclusive content and early releases from artists. The most basic tier of Amazon Music remains free for all, offering thousands of stations and playlists with ads in a shuffle-based format. Prime subscribers receive an upgraded ad-free, shuffle-based version included in their membership, priced at £8.99 per month.
Comparing Other Streaming Services
Apple Music plans are all ad-free, though there is no free ad-supported tier. Listeners can get one month free, or three months free with the purchase of an eligible Apple device. Individual plans are priced at £11.99 per month, with Family and Student plans also available.
Spotify Premium is also offering a three-month free trial, after which it renews at £12.99 per month. This tier removes ads, enables unlimited skips, allows offline downloads, and streams audio at a higher quality than the free version.
Reviews and User Feedback
Amazon Music Unlimited has received positive reviews from tech experts. PC Mag called it a "worthy premium upgrade from the limited jukebox bundled with a Prime subscription", while Tech Radar said it was "a solid option for those who care about quality listening and plenty of choice". What Hi-Fi? praised the "excellent catalogue" included, though its experts noted that "music discovery could be better" and added that "user experience lacks a little cohesion".
One Google Play store reviewer said: "In my opinion, the best music streaming service. Customisable. The algorithms pick up on your tastes and genres quickly. I got Unlimited to unlock all the features. Live music, podcasts, and a free Audible book per month." Another reviewer shared: "I now have Amazon Music Unlimited and an Amazon Echo. The convenience of voice-controlled instant playback is something that is hard to beat, and it is excellent value."
Prime members can get four months of Amazon Music Unlimited free by signing up through the Amazon website.
