Spain's WAGs joined the players on the pitch for World Cup celebrations after a heated final victory over Argentina. Ferran Torres scored the only goal in extra time, securing a 1-0 win. Argentina failed to register a single shot on target in 120 minutes, with just three shots overall. After the match, brawls broke out as Argentina's Leandro Paredes and Nahuel Molina attacked celebrating Spanish players.
WAGs Celebrate on the Pitch
Once the altercations were resolved, the partners of Spain's stars entered the pitch to celebrate. Lamine Yamal's girlfriend Ines Garcia embraced the 19-year-old winger. Garcia posted a photo on Instagram wearing a Spain shirt and holding the World Cup trophy, with Yamal posing behind her in sunglasses. The post, captioned "You did it. Congratulations my love, you are a world champion," received thousands of congratulatory messages from her 2.1 million followers.
Other WAGs Join the Festivities
Barcelona centre-back Pau Cubarsi was seen kissing his girlfriend Martina Riera, while Pedri shared a moment with his partner Alejandra Dorta. Goalkeeper Joan Garcia and his girlfriend Anna Pesarrodona posed with the trophy, as did striker Borja Iglesias and partner Maria Valero, and Alejandro Grimaldo with his girlfriend Ana Fuster Garcia.
Yamal's World Cup Journey
Yamal, who starred in Spain's Euro 2024 campaign, battled back from injury early in the tournament. He previously stated that few would remember his individual efforts if Spain did not win the trophy. Spain coach Luis de la Fuente praised Yamal, saying: "He has played great football that will help him to mature and be an even greater footballer than he already is. He really sacrificed for the collective good. This is very important in my squad. In my opinion he played a great World Cup."
