Newcastle United have confirmed the second half of their VisitMalta Weekender 2026, with Ligue 1 side Strasbourg making the journey to Tyneside. The club's women's team will also face Inter Milan Femminile on the same day as part of their curtain raiser to the new campaign at St James' Park.
Match Schedule and Opponents
Newcastle have already confirmed that they will face Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen on August 15, with the Strasbourg clash following 24 hours later. A club statement read: "United will host French Ligue 1 side RC Strasbourg Alsace and Italian Serie A Femminile outfit Inter Women this August, as part of the 'VisitMalta Weekender 2026.'"
The statement added: "A Sunday double-header against top-tier French and Italian opposition completes the lineup for the home pre-season competition, which kicks off against German giants Bayer 04 Leverkusen. Scheduled for 15–16 August, the two-day festival of football offers both the Magpies’ men’s and women’s squads a chance to sharpen pre-season preparations in front of a home crowd. All matches across an action-packed weekend will be contested for VisitMalta Cup silverware, adding extra incentive for the club's return to St. James' Park this summer."

A range of hospitality packages will also be available across the VisitMalta Weekender. Fans can choose from the Barracks package (£188 + VAT per person) or Wings (£250 + VAT per person) for Saturday's fixture against Bayer 04 Leverkusen. On Sunday, premium tickets are available for £80 + VAT per person, which includes a Directors' Box seat, deli sandwich, side dish and tea and coffee voucher. Ticket Sales Dates
