Ireland's Struggle with the Bat
Earlier, Ireland managed only 105 for 7 in their 20 overs after being put in to bat. Opener Gaby Lewis top-scored with 36, but wickets fell at regular intervals. England's bowling attack was led by Sophie Ecclestone, who took 2 for 14, and Sarah Glenn, who also claimed 2 wickets. The Irish innings never gained momentum, with only two batters reaching double figures.
The victory sets a strong tone for England in the tournament, with their next match against Pakistan scheduled for later this week. Ireland will look to bounce back when they face Australia in their second group game.
