Children's pamper party business Blossom Mini Day Spa & Pamper Parties is expanding to the Metrocentre with a new venture called Be That Girl. The mini spa will open at The Crescent, the new zone for independent businesses, and is expected to welcome its first customers next month, ahead of the October half-term school holidays.
New wellness experiences for young shoppers
Be That Girl will focus on wellness experiences and spontaneous walk-ins for young shoppers, moving into two adjacent units at the hub located in Upper Green Mall. Customers can book online in advance or pop in for a mini day spa treatment or a luxury lip oil experience. Brand new pamper party packages will also be available, each featuring a unique twist exclusive to Be That Girl.
The business was founded by a mum-of-three and started offering day spa packages to children aged two to 14 at the former Prince Consort Road Post Office six years ago. It has since expanded to include pamper party packages with special guest appearances from favourite Disney princesses and characters.
Jobs and growth
The move is expected to create new jobs. The company recently grew from six to 13 part-time colleagues and is expecting to recruit for another three to four roles soon.
Noah Knapton, asset manager at Sovereign Centros from CBRE, asset managers of Metrocentre, said: “Welcoming Be That Girl perfectly sums up the vision of The Crescent. It’s a place where new and growing independent businesses can feel confident and supported bringing their ambitions to life, and where customers can discover something different.
“With each new signing, the unique character of the dedicated indie hub is really starting to take shape, with several more announcements expected in the months ahead.”
Owner's vision
The owner of Blossom Mini Day Spa & Pamper Parties and Be That Girl said: “I’ve had my eye on Metrocentre for several years now. It’s always been my safe space – somewhere I can go with my own children that has a lovely family feel – and I saw it as the perfect place to expand. When I read about plans for The Crescent, I took it as a sign to go for it.
“Seeing my own children and young customers grow has inspired me to ensure the brand also evolves. There will be a whole range of new experiences catering for the latest trends, each delivered with the same unmistakeable magic, sparkle and bottomless pink lemonade our young guests know and love.”
The new online booking system will go live ahead of the opening.
