The world of professional tennis has been rocked by another integrity scandal, resulting in a lifetime ban for Thai player Jatuporn Nalamphun. The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) has issued the severe sanction after concluding a thorough investigation into match-fixing activities.
The infractions occurred at the ITF World Tennis Tour M15 event held in Lamphun, Thailand, in October 2023. The ITIA found Nalamphun guilty of multiple breaches of the Tennis Anti-Corruption Program (TACP), marking a serious violation of the sport's ethical codes.
A Catalogue of Corruption
The investigation uncovered a damning list of offences committed by the 21-year-old player. Nalamphun was charged with:
- Manipulating match outcomes: Facilitating wagering on the result of a match for financial gain.
