Elijah Just's agent has revealed that the Motherwell winger's World Cup performances have sparked a flurry of transfer interest, with Celtic among the clubs reportedly monitoring the situation.
World Cup Breakthrough
Despite New Zealand's group-stage exit, Just scored three goals, including a brace in a single match—a first for a Kiwi in World Cup history. His agent, Gustaf Grauers, told Record Sport: "The World Cup certainly generated further interest and we've had additional enquiries from clubs in a number of countries."
Celtic Interest and Current Status
Record Sport previously reported that Just's form for Motherwell had caught the attention of the Scottish champions. However, Grauers stressed that no decision has been made: "We're still evaluating the different options available to Elijah. He's back with Motherwell now and, as always, we have a lot of respect for the club, so there are ongoing discussions to determine what the best path forward looks like."
Just, 26, is under contract with Motherwell until summer 2027. He has returned to Lanarkshire for pre-season training under new boss Alfred Johansson and is in line to feature in next week's Europa Conference League qualifier against HB Torshavn.
Transfer Strategy
Grauers emphasized a measured approach: "At this stage, though, our focus is on carefully assessing the opportunities rather than rushing into any decision. We'll see how things develop over the coming weeks."
