England Pundit Demands Tuchel Sacked After World Cup Semi-Final Defeat
England Pundit Demands Tuchel Sacked After Semi-Final Loss

An English football pundit has demanded the Three Lions sack Thomas Tuchel after his side crashed out of the World Cup with a whimper against Argentina. The German manager's decision to make defensive substitutions backfired spectacularly as England lost 2-1 in the semi-final in Atlanta.

O'Hara's Furious Rant

Jamie O'Hara, speaking on talkSPORT, launched a blistering attack on Tuchel after Enzo Fernandez equalised for Argentina. The former Tottenham midfielder fumed: "I told you mate, I told you it's coming. I told you Jace [Jason Cundy], it has been coming for 15 minutes mate. You can't play this, you cannot play like this against Argentina. They won't quit!"

England had taken the lead through Anthony Gordon, but Tuchel replaced Gordon with Ezri Konsa, and also brought on Dan Burn and Nico O'Reilly for Declan Rice and Reece James respectively. O'Hara continued: "It's a terrible, terrible decision from Thomas Tuchel! We retreated way too early. We could have had [Marcus] Rashford, we could have had [Bukayo] Saka. We had so much more to give in this game and we just retreated!"

Call for Immediate Dismissal

After Lautaro Martinez scored a stoppage-time winner, O'Hara's rant escalated. He said: "We're out, it's the worst decision ever. It's a sackable offence, Argentina have won it. Thomas Tuchel you should be embarrassed, sack him, sack him now!"

Tuchel defended his tactics post-match, stating: "I did also offensive substitutions in the last games, we just tried to help the players. We conceded [a chance] straight away and we decided to go to a back five because the gaps were far too open. They won every header, they kept crossing and crossing so we went to a back five to close the gaps inside and be strong in the air."

Impact of the Defeat

The loss leaves England heartbroken after a promising tournament. Tuchel's future is now in doubt, with pundits and fans questioning his decision-making under pressure. The German coach accepted responsibility, saying: "Straight after our goal, without any substitutions, we conceded way too many crosses and way too many chances so we tried to help. Of course, the responsibility is on the coach and if it doesn't go well, it is easy to say it was wrong."
