Former Rangers striker Robbie Ure is leading the race for the European Golden Boot after scoring his 20th goal in 19 games for Sirius. His red-hot form is attracting interest from across Europe.
Match-Winning Performance
Ure netted in Sirius' 4-1 thrashing of Goteborg as they moved 11 points clear at the top of the Allsvenskan table with a game in hand. His latest strike, a close-range finish in the first half, doubled the hosts' advantage and made him the front-runner for the continent's top scorer award. He now leads by 4.5 points ahead of Liepaja's Nigerian striker Ede Oloko.
Transfer Interest
Clubs from England, France, Italy and Turkey have been in contact with the 22-year-old's agents over a possible summer move, including Lyon, Hoffenheim and Trabzonspor. However, Sirius are set to demand at least £8.5 million for their star man.
International Eligibility
Ure, who has represented Scotland up to Under-21 level, has admitted he would love a call-up to the senior squad. He said: "I was watching Scotland in the World Cup and it was something that, of course, I would have loved to be involved in. My ambition is to play with Scotland one day but I have no stress for that situation. I feel like what I do at club level will give me the opportunities that I deserve. I'm going to push to be involved with the men's first team but of course if it's Under-21s then there's no problem. I'm young and I feel like I will have a good international career."
However, Scotland face competition as Ukraine have already made contact. Ure confirmed: "There has been contact. It was more in the last couple months and last year as well. But it's not a decision I would rush. I certainly feel that I'd want to play for Scotland."
Career Journey
Ure, who has admitted he would love a return to Rangers one day, left Ibrox in 2023 to join Anderlecht's futures squad before moving to Sweden for £400,000 in March. Since then, he has fired Sirius to a commanding league lead, putting them on course for their first-ever Swedish top flight title.
