EastEnders has aired increasingly worrying scenes for teenager Amy Mitchell as she remains unaware of Craig Ingram's harrowing grooming plot. In recent episodes of the BBC soap, Amy (Ellie Dadd) has grown closer to disgraced copper Craig (Matthew James-Bailey) after admitting she was the culprit behind the violent attack on Joel Marshall (Max Murray).
Craig's Manipulation Intensifies
The two have also bonded amid her step-mum Denise Fox's (Diane Parish) acute myeloid leukaemia battle, as she leans on him for support. Meanwhile, Amy is unaware that Craig had been suspended from his job at Walford Police Station following a complaint lodged against him. In a sickening plot, Craig has been exploiting Amy's struggles to manipulate her into developing romantic feelings for him.
During Tuesday's (September 29) episode, viewers saw the opening scene through Denise's eyes as she struggled to get home after a walk to the local high street. She eventually fell into Denzel Danes' (Jaden Ladega) arms and he guided her home, where her step-daughter, Amy, was waiting. He suggested going to Davinder 'Nugget' Gulati's (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury) 18th birthday together at Harry's Barn. Denzel also confirmed that Denise has failed to get a stem cell match, leaving Amy livid as she's been kept in the dark about Denise's health.
Denise's Heartbreaking Decision
In a heated exchange, Amy accused her mother figure of shutting her out, and said that their relationship had drastically changed following her cancer diagnosis. Denise tearfully announced that she'd reached "the end of the road" and that she wasn't going to continue treatment because half-brother Darnell Larson (Christopher Colquhoun) wasn't a stem cell match.
Elsewhere, Craig was fired from the police force, with Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) and his colleague Callum Highway (Tony Clay) confirming that he had been let go for gross misconduct involving a junior officer. Craig lied to Amy and said the police knew he was withholding evidence, with Amy suggesting she confess to attacking Joel. She then agreed to go back to his flat, where Craig poured her a glass of wine and urged the teenager to "focus on herself". Amy confessed she wanted "to be in love" and after the pair confirmed their desire for a relationship, she gazed at Craig's bed as he began kissing her neck.

Amy is the daughter of Roxy Mitchell (Rita Simons) and Jack Branning. She was born in November 2008, making her 17 years old. Before the teenager was even born, there was a scandal surrounding her paternity after Roxy told Sean Slater (Robert Kazinsky) that he was her father to cover up her one-night stand with Jack.
The DNA twist concluded on Christmas Day in 2008, when the truth was exposed. Sean was furious that he was not Amy's biological father and kidnapped the young tot before Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) returned her unharmed.
