NBA legend LeBron James has been spotted enjoying a round of golf with some of his fellow basketball stars at the prestigious Loch Lomond course. The 41-year-old Los Angeles Lakers star reunited with some of his former Cleveland Cavaliers teammates, ten years on from their historic 2016 championship run, which came as the biggest series comeback in NBA Finals history.
Reunion in the Highlands
James, who is the NBA's all-time leading scorer, met up with Kevin Love, J.R. Smith, Richard Jefferson, Tristan Thompson and Channing Frye for a golfing trip around the Highlands before the group moved on to experience the bonnie banks yesterday.
On Tuesday (June 16), the group golfed at Castle Stuart Golf Links at Cabot Highlands in Inverness. The following morning they enjoyed early morning cold plunges at their castle stay on the shores of Loch Ness before arriving at Loch Lomond Golf Club for a round via a 90-mile helicopter ride.
Helicopter Ride and Pints
Kevin Love took to his Instagram Stories to share a video of the helicopter ride over Loch Lomond shores and footage of the former Cavs at a table in Rossdhu House, the course's clubhouse, enjoying some post-round pints of Tennent's Lager. The crew later flew back to Loch Ness by helicopter.
James, Smith, Thompson and Fyre shared another joint Instagram post on Wednesday (June 17) outside London's Tower Bridge with the caption: "The group chat finally linked up." Another joint post between Jefferson, Love, Thompson and Fyre showed a video of Thompson hilariously delivering drinks to the group on the Loch Lomond course with the caption: "We all have roles."
Scotland's World Cup and Knicks Win
Their arrival comes as Scotland's national team are currently in the States for the World Cup. Scotland's second match against Morocco takes place tomorrow night at Boston Stadium while their first World Cup win in 36 years in 1-0 in Haiti came last Saturday.
Scotland's victory took place on the same night as the New York Knicks' first NBA Championship win since 1973. The Knicks took home the title for the first time in over 50 years after their game against the San Antonio Spurs, which they won 94-90.
Susan Boyle's Support
Susan Boyle was one Scot who cheered them on in support of her good pal Timothée Chalamet. The 65-year-old took to Instagram to share a poem with the Marty Supreme star last Saturday as she said: "Hi Timothée, I hear your team are doing very well so I had this jacket made for you", as she showed up an Irn Bru themed zipper. She continued: "My Girders are Scottish. My jacket Supreme. The Knicks have been divine. Now it's Scotland's time to shine."
