Sky customers have expressed frustration over delays in accessing Formula 1 content on Sky Stream, with some reporting that qualifying and race sessions are not appearing in their playlists for hours after broadcast. One user noted that the Mexican Grand Prix qualifying, which finished at 23:00, was still unavailable at 09:00 the following day.
Users have also criticised the user interface, stating that programme titles are often truncated and unclear, making it difficult to distinguish between practice, qualifying, and race sessions. The use of episode numbers like 'Season 24 Episode 6' for F1 sessions has been described as inappropriate.
Some viewers have found alternative solutions, such as using Channel 4's streaming service (4OD) to watch qualifying highlights, which is included with a TV licence. However, others have pointed out that live Channel 4 broadcasts require a BBC licence fee.
Sky customers have shared tips for improving reliability, such as adding F1 to the playlist via the TV guide on channel 407 and using series link for the entire weekend. They note that cloud recordings eventually convert to on-demand versions without live ads.
Despite these workarounds, users remain critical of Sky's handling of F1 content, with one stating that the playlist function is 'terrible' and has failed multiple times over the past 18 months. Another user reported that the US Grand Prix race never became available on their device.
