A dramatic three-car crash at the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa on Saturday saw Rinaldi Racing's No. 333 car engulfed in flames, sparking an immediate safety period. Race organisers GT World Challenge Europe confirmed that all drivers involved are unharmed.
The incident occurred during the fourth hour of the endurance race in Spa, Belgium. The No. 333 car, driven by Christian Hook, squeezed Comtoyou Racing's Nicolas Baert into the barriers, forcing both cars into a collision. Baert managed to steer his car onto the grassy run-off, but Hook was stranded on the track with cars approaching at 200 km/h.
Although race organisers displayed virtual yellow caution flags, most drivers continued at full speed. Malaysian driver Adrian D'Silva struck the left rear bumper of Hook's car, sending it spiralling into a collision that ignited the fire. D'Silva's team, Earl Bomber Motorsport, announced their withdrawal from the race, confirming that D'Silva was unhurt.
The crash marred the centenary edition of the historic race, which features a 67-car field across multiple classes. Comtoyou Racing's Marco Sorensen leads after six hours, with Maximilian Gotz in second and Ricardo Feller in third. Additional incidents, including a clash between Julien Andlauer and Michele Beretta, added to the drama on a rainy afternoon.
