ITV Announces First Six EFL Fixtures for 2025/26 Season

ITV has confirmed the first six fixtures it will broadcast as part of its deal to show Carabao Cup and English Football League (EFL) action in the 2025/26 season. The broadcaster will air a total of 20 matches, split evenly between 10 Carabao Cup ties and 10 EFL matches.

The standout selection is Wrexham's first home match in the Championship, where they will host West Bromwich Albion at the Racecourse Ground. The Dragons, co-owned by actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, recently secured promotion from League One and will begin their second-tier campaign against Southampton.

The first match to be shown on ITV is the Carabao Cup first-round tie between Birmingham City and Sheffield United on Wednesday, 13th August at 8:00pm. Other selected Championship fixtures include the Sheffield derby between Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United on Sunday, 23rd November, and a Midlands clash between Derby County and Leicester City on Saturday, 6th December.

ITV's deal with Sky Sports, which runs until the end of the 2026/27 season, ensures that selected games are available on free-to-air television in addition to being broadcast on Sky Sports. ITV will also air extended highlights of the EFL on ITV4 and ITVX throughout the season.
