World Cup 2026 Squads: Every Player at the Tournament

The 48 teams competing in the 2026 FIFA World Cup have begun naming their 26-player squads for the tournament, which will be held across the United States, Canada, and Mexico this summer. With the competition starting on 11 June, national teams are finalising their rosters ahead of the 2 June deadline.

Group A

Mexico

Coach Javier Aguirre will announce his final squad on 1 June. The preliminary list includes goalkeepers Guillermo Ochoa and Carlos Acevedo, defenders Edson Alvarez and Johan Vasquez, midfielders Luis Chavez and Orbelin Pineda, and forwards Raul Jimenez and Santiago Gimenez.

South Africa

Coach Hugo Broos is set to confirm his squad on 27 May. The preliminary group features goalkeeper Ronwen Williams, defender Khuliso Mudau, midfielder Teboho Mokoena, and forwards Lyle Foster and Evidence Makgopa.

South Korea

Former Tottenham star Son Heung-min, now at Los Angeles FC, will captain the side at his fourth World Cup. The squad includes five UK-based players: Wolves forward Hwang Hee-chan, Stoke midfielder Bae Jun-ho, Birmingham's Paik Seung-ho, Swansea's Eom Ji-sung, and Celtic's Yang Hyun-jun. German-born defender Jens Castrop of Borussia Monchengladbach becomes the first dual-heritage player in a South Korea World Cup squad.

Czech Republic

Coach Miroslav Koubek will announce his final squad on 31 May. The preliminary squad includes goalkeeper Matej Kovar, defender Ladislav Krejci (Wolves), midfielder Tomas Soucek (West Ham), and forward Patrik Schick (Bayer Leverkusen).

Group B

Canada

Coach Jesse Marsch will name his squad on 29 May.

Bosnia and Herzegovina

Bosnia, who qualified via the playoffs, became the first side to announce their squad on 11 May. The 26-man group includes 40-year-old Edin Dzeko, who is set to become only the second outfield player in his 40s to appear at a World Cup after Roger Milla. Hull midfielder Amir Hadziahmetovic is the only English-based player.

Qatar

Coach Julen Lopetegui has named a preliminary squad featuring forwards Almoez Ali and Akram Afif, as well as defender Boualem Khoukhi.

Switzerland

Coach Murat Yakin has selected an experienced squad led by Granit Xhaka, heading to his fourth World Cup. Real Betis full-back Ricardo Rodriguez also makes his fourth appearance. Premier League representatives include Nottingham Forest's Dan Ndoye, Leeds forward Noah Okafor, and Burnley attacker Zeki Amdouni.

Group C

Brazil

Coach Carlo Ancelotti has included Neymar after injury, with the all-time leading scorer hoping to make his first appearance since 2023. Chelsea pair Joao Pedro and Andrey Santos were surprise omissions. The squad features Premier League stars Alisson, Gabriel Magalhaes, Bruno Guimaraes, Casemiro, Gabriel Martinelli, Igor Thiago, Matheus Cunha, and Rayan.

Morocco

Captain Achraf Hakimi is included despite an injury sustained in the Champions League semi-final. Ex-Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech misses out. Premier League players include defenders Noussair Mazraoui (Man United), Issa Diop (Fulham), Chadi Riad (Crystal Palace), and Sunderland winger Chemsdine Talbi.

Haiti

Coach Sebastien Migne has included Premier League stars Wilson Isidor (Sunderland) and Jean-Ricner Bellegarde (Wolves). All-time top scorer Duckens Nazon, formerly of Coventry and Oldham, also makes the squad.

Scotland

Coach Steve Clarke has recalled Southampton striker Ross Stewart for the first time since 2022. Craig Gordon, aged 43, is among the goalkeeping options. Teenage winger Findlay Curtis earns a call-up, but Udinese midfielder Lennon Miller misses out.

Group D

USA

Coach Mauricio Pochettino has selected a settled squad including Fulham's Antonee Robinson and Bournemouth's Tyler Adams. Gio Reyna is included despite an injury-hit season, while Alejandro Zendejas forces his way in as a wide forward. Diego Luna, Tanner Tessmann, and Aidan Morris are overlooked.

Paraguay

Coach Gustavo Alfaro has named a preliminary squad featuring Miguel Almiron, Julio Enciso, and Diego Gomez (Brighton).

Australia

Coach Tony Popovic will announce his squad on 1 June.

Turkey

Coach Vincenzo Montella's preliminary squad includes Manchester United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir, Brighton's Ferdi Kadioglu, and Real Madrid youngster Arda Guler.

Germany

Coach Julian Nagelsmann has recalled 40-year-old Manuel Neuer from retirement, who will be the number one goalkeeper. Bayern Munich's Serge Gnabry misses out through injury. Five Premier League players are included: Arsenal's Kai Havertz, Brighton's Pascal Gross, Liverpool's Florian Wirtz, and Newcastle duo Malick Thiaw and Nick Woltemade.

Curacao

The smallest nation to qualify for the World Cup, Curacao, has the oldest coach in tournament history, 78-year-old Dick Advocaat. Four English-based players are selected: Middlesbrough's Sontje Hansen, Sheffield United's Tahith Chong, Rotherham's Ar'Jany Martha, and Shurandy Sambo (on loan from Burnley). Ex-Aston Villa man Leandro Bacuna and his brother Juninho Bacuna also make the cut.

Ivory Coast

Coach Emerse Fae has included Inter Milan's Ange-Yoan Bonny after his nationality switch was approved. Former Arsenal forward Nicolas Pepe returns, but Wilfried Zaha and Sebastien Haller are omitted.

Ecuador

Coach Sebastian Beccacece will announce his squad on 1 June.

Group F

Netherlands

Coach Ronald Koeman has included Memphis Depay and Jurrien Timber despite injury doubts. West Ham's Crysencio Summerville could make his debut, but Liverpool's Jeremie Frimpong and Inter Milan's Stefan de Vrij are left out. Sunderland goalkeeper Robin Roefs is uncapped.

Japan

Brighton's Kaoru Mitoma misses out due to a hamstring injury, while Takumi Minamino is sidelined with a knee issue. Former Arsenal defender Takehiro Tomiyasu is included despite his own injury problems.

Sweden

Coach Graham Potter has named a squad led by Arsenal's Viktor Gyokeres and Liverpool's Alexander Isak. Tottenham's Dejan Kulusevski is omitted as expected after a year out with a knee injury.

Tunisia

Coach Sabri Lamouchi has left out experienced midfielder Ferjani Sassi and defender Yassine Meriah. Paris Saint-Germain forward Khalil Ayari makes the squad.

Group G

Belgium

Coach Rudi Garcia has gambled on Romelu Lukaku's fitness, with the striker having played just an hour of competitive football this season. Kevin De Bruyne, Axel Witsel, and Thibaut Courtois are set for their fourth tournament. Matias Fernandez-Pardo, who previously switched allegiance to Spain, is included.

Egypt

Mohamed Salah captains the side, with Manchester City's Omar Marmoush the only other English-based player. Uncovened 18-year-old Hamza Abdelkarim (Barcelona Under-19s) is included, but Nantes forward Mostafa Mohamed is left out. Coach Hossam Hassan will remove one goalkeeper before the deadline.

Iran

Coach Amir Ghalenoei will announce his squad on 1 June.

New Zealand

Coach Darren Bazeley has included 36-year-old Tommy Smith, who plays for National League side Braintree Town, for the first time since 2024. Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood captains the side.

Group H

Spain

Coach Luis de la Fuente has surprisingly omitted all Real Madrid players, including Dean Huijsen. Barcelona's Pau Cubarsi and Aymeric Laporte are the centre-backs. Lamine Yamal has recovered from a torn hamstring. Gavi returns after a strong finish to the season.

Cape Verde

Dublin-born Shamrock Rovers centre-back Roberto Lopes, who received his first call-up via LinkedIn, is part of the squad for their first World Cup. Coach Bubista has gambled on Logan Costa's fitness after an ACL injury.

Saudi Arabia

Coach Georgios Donis will lead the team.

Uruguay

Coach Marcelo Bielsa will announce his squad.

Group I

France

Coach Didier Deschamps has rewarded Lens goalkeeper Robin Risser with a spot as third-choice. Crystal Palace's Jean-Philippe Mateta edges out Randal Kolo Muani for a forward place. Key players include Kylian Mbappe, William Saliba, and Aurelien Tchouameni.

Senegal

Coach Pape Thiaw has named a provisional squad including Sadio Mane, Nicolas Jackson, and Iliman Ndiaye. Bayern Munich's 18-year-old midfielder Bara Ndiaye is called up.

Iraq

Coach Graham Arnold will announce his squad on 1 June.

Norway

Coach Stale Solbakken has selected Erling Haaland and Martin Odegaard. Uncovened Hamburg goalkeeper Sander Tangvik solves a positional issue caused by injury and a rejected nationality switch.

Group J

Argentina

Coach Lionel Scaloni has named a preliminary squad including Lionel Messi, Lautaro Martinez, and Julian Alvarez. Aston Villa's Emiliano Martinez is the first-choice goalkeeper.

Algeria

Coach Vladimir Petkovic will announce his squad on 31 May.

Austria

Coach Ralf Rangnick has included former England youth international Carney Chukwuemeka after his allegiance switch. David Alaba captains the side. Fourteen of the 26 players play in the Bundesliga.

Jordan

Coach Jamal Sellami will lead the team.

Group K

Portugal

Cristiano Ronaldo heads to a sixth World Cup at age 41. Coach Roberto Martinez has included Premier League stars Bruno Fernandes, Bernardo Silva, Pedro Neto, and Diogo Dalot. One goalkeeper will be removed before the deadline.

DR Congo

Coach Sebastien Desabre has recalled former Chelsea youngster Gael Kakuta. Four Premier League players are included: Axel Tuanzebe (Burnley), Aaron Wan-Bissaka (West Ham), Noah Sadiki (Sunderland), and Yoane Wissa (Newcastle).

Uzbekistan

Coach Fabio Cannavaro has named a preliminary squad including Manchester City defender Abdukodir Khusanov.

Colombia

Coach Nestor Lorenzo has included captain James Rodriguez despite a season disrupted by illness. Bayern Munich winger Luis Diaz is the other key name. Former Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina makes the squad, but Jhon Duran misses out.

Group L

England

Coach Thomas Tuchel has made bold calls, omitting Phil Foden, Cole Palmer, Morgan Gibbs-White, and Harry Maguire. Ivan Toney, who has spent two seasons in the Saudi Pro League, and Tottenham's Djed Spence are surprise inclusions. Harry Kane captains the side.

Croatia

Luka Modric, aged 40, is set for his fifth World Cup. AC Milan star Modric is only the second outfield player in his 40s to be selected. Forwards Bruno Petkovic and Dion Drena Beljo miss out through injury.

Ghana

Coach Carlos Queiroz has named a provisional 28-man squad without Tottenham's Mohammed Kudus, who suffered a season-ending injury. Antoine Semenyo and Inaki Williams are expected to lead the attack alongside captain Jordan Ayew.

Panama

Coach Thomas Christiansen has included midfielder Adalberto Carrasquilla despite an injury scare. Anibal Godoy captains the side with over 150 caps. Norwich City defender Jose Cordoba is the only English-based player.
