Vinicius Jr's Madrid Home Damaged in Sauna Fire

Firefighters were called to Vinicius Junior's home in La Moraleja, an upmarket neighbourhood north of Madrid, on Thursday morning after a fire broke out in the basement sauna. The blaze, believed to have been caused by a mechanical issue with the sauna's electrics, was extinguished within an hour, according to Spanish authorities.

No injuries were reported, though the sauna was completely destroyed and heavy smoke damage affected two floors of the property. The fire spread quickly through the stairwell, but a swift response from emergency services prevented further escalation. Domestic staff and friends who were inside at the time raised the alarm.

The Real Madrid star was not at home during the incident. Vinicius is currently in Seoul, South Korea, preparing for Brazil's international friendly against South Korea on Friday, followed by a match against Japan. The fixtures are part of Brazil's World Cup preparations.

Under new manager Xabi Alonso, Vinicius has started the season strongly, scoring five goals and providing four assists in eight matches. He is expected to feature prominently in Brazil's lineup alongside teammates such as Casemiro, Gabriel Magalhaes, and Bruno Guimaraes.
