Snooker Final Disrupted by Protester at Crucible

The World Snooker Championship final was briefly interrupted on Sunday when a protester entered the playing area at the Crucible Theatre. Referee Rob Spencer quickly intervened to remove the individual, who vaulted onto the stage during a safety battle between Wu Yize and Shaun Murphy in the third frame.

The protester appeared to shout something directed at the BBC before being escorted out by security. The disturbance was short-lived, with Spencer ensuring the match resumed promptly.

This incident follows a similar disruption during the semi-final between Mark Allen and Wu, where a member of the crowd was ejected at the start of the deciding frame. Spencer had also spoken to referee Marcel Eckardt during that match's lengthy 100-minute frame.

Wu, 22, is the youngest player in the world's top 16 and aims to become the second Chinese world champion after Zhao Xintong. He was not yet two years old when Murphy won his sole world title in 2005.
