Roy Keane's Mother Marie Dies Aged 79

Marie Keane, the mother of Manchester United legend and ITV pundit Roy Keane, has died at the age of 79. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Marymount University Hospital and Hospice in Cork on Friday morning, according to a death notice on rip.ie.

Marie was the beloved wife of the late Maurice Keane, who died in 2019, and mother of five children: Denis, Johnson, Hilary, Roy, and Pat. She was also a grandmother and great-grandmother. Roy Keane had previously described her as 'the only boss I listen to.'

The death notice requested donations to Marymount Hospice in lieu of flowers. Visitation will be held at O'Connor Bros. Funeral Home on March 30th, with Requiem Mass on March 31st at the Church of the Resurrection in Farranree.

The tragic news comes hours before ITV's coverage of England's friendly against Uruguay. Keane is not expected to appear as a pundit, with Ian Wright set to be the sole analyst at Wembley.
