Emerging South Sydney Rabbitohs star Tyrone Munro has revealed the deeply personal motivations behind his rapid rise in the National Rugby League (NRL), paying tribute to his late mother and inspirational uncle who shaped his sporting journey.
The 19-year-old winger, who made his NRL debut earlier this season, credits his mother Kirawhan Fernando and uncle Raymond Caldwell as the driving forces behind his success. "Everything I do is for them," Munro emotionally shared with reporters.
A Mother's Lasting Legacy
Munro's world was shattered when his mother Kirawhan passed away from cancer in 2018, but her memory continues to fuel his determination. "Mum was my biggest supporter," he recalled. "Even when she was sick, she never missed a game. That kind of love stays with you forever."

The young athlete also draws inspiration from his uncle Raymond Caldwell, a former rugby league player who introduced him to the sport. "Uncle Ray saw something in me early on," Munro explained. "He pushed me to be better while always reminding me to enjoy the game."
