Muñoz Header Lifts Crystal Palace Past Struggling Burnley

Daniel Muñoz's second-half header earned Crystal Palace a narrow 1-0 victory over Burnley at Turf Moor, extending the hosts' losing streak to five matches and moving Palace up to fifth in the Premier League table.

The match was a drab affair with few clear-cut chances, as both sides struggled to create meaningful attacks. Burnley's lack of firepower was evident once again, with the hosts failing to score in a league game for the fourth time this season at home. Their only real opportunity came from Jaidon Anthony, whose first-time shot was easily saved by Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson.

Palace were not much better, but the moment of quality came from Marc Guéhi, who strode out of defence and chipped a cross to the back post. Muñoz showed determination to beat his marker and head home, colliding with the post in the process. The goal proved to be the winner, as Palace held on despite a late scare when Henderson missed a looping cross that hit Armando Broja on the back and trickled towards goal before Chris Richards cleared.

Palace manager Oliver Glasner praised his team's resilience after the match, saying: 'The last 30 minutes was about surviving... That makes me really proud of the team today, of their resilience, of their commitment, of their togetherness.' Burnley boss Scott Parker admitted his side are fighting but acknowledged that may not be enough to avoid relegation.
