John McEnroe Furious Over Emma Raducanu's Wimbledon Ranking Blow
McEnroe Slams Raducanu's Wimbledon Setback and Fine

Emma Raducanu has suffered a setback ahead of Wimbledon after dropping two places in the world rankings to 39th. The British star, who began the year inside the top 32, now faces the prospect of being unseeded at the grass-court Grand Slam starting June 29. This follows a first-round defeat at the French Open to Solana Sierra.

French Open Quarter-Finals Set

At Roland Garros, the women's quarter-finals are confirmed, with top seed Aryna Sabalenka defeating Naomi Osaka. Sabalenka will face Diana Shnaider, who reached her first Grand Slam quarter-final by beating former Australian Open champion Madison Keys in three sets.

The men's draw is wide open after early exits from Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic, and Carlos Alcaraz's injury withdrawal. Alexander Zverev is now favorite for his maiden major title but faces a tough quarter-final against Spanish rising star Rafael Jodar.

McEnroe Criticises Vallejo Fine

John McEnroe has slammed the $65,000 fine handed to Adolfo Daniel Vallejo for sexist comments about umpire Ana Carvalho. Vallejo, ranked 71st, said a female umpire lacked authority to control the crowd during his five-set loss. McEnroe told TNT Sports: "$65,000 for saying something asinine? That seems absurd. $5,000 or $10,000 would be more appropriate." He argued the fine should reflect the player's earnings.

Raducanu will now focus on the grass-court season, starting with the HSBC Championships at Queen's Club on June 8, where she hopes to regain form before Wimbledon.
