Maya Jama's 'Different Experience' at Man City Away End Cheering Ruben Dias
Maya Jama cheers on Man City's Ruben Dias at away game

Television presenter Maya Jama has given fans a glimpse into life as a WAG on the road, after cheering on her Manchester City star boyfriend Ruben Dias from the away end for the first time.

A 'Whole Different Experience' in the Away Stand

The Love Island host, 31, was among the travelling supporters at the City Ground on Saturday to watch Dias and his teammates secure a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest. The win marked City's eighth consecutive Premier League triumph.

Taking to Instagram afterwards, Jama shared a snap from the buoyant away section, captioning it: "Was a whole different experience being in the crowd at an away game," followed by a laughing emoji.

Goals from Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Cherki sealed the three points for Pep Guardiola's side, despite a second-half equaliser from Forest's Omari Hutchinson. At full-time, defender Dias was seen laughing with teammate Bernardo Silva as he pointed out Jama waving from the stands.

Navigating Life in the Public Eye

The couple, who have been dating for roughly a year, are no strangers to the spotlight. Dias, City's 28-year-old vice-captain, previously opened up about their relationship in an interview with The Telegraph in August.

When asked if public attention was a concern, the Portuguese international stated: "No, I think that's the last thing you think about. We are just both aware of it and there's no way around it."

He added a note of protectiveness, acknowledging: "I think in a way, maybe she would like to avoid certain kinds of situations just to be more comfortable, also being a woman. It's obviously more difficult to tell someone to stop if they're being rude. And I've kind of got an easier way to do it myself."

City's 'Massive' Win and What's Next

Manager Pep Guardiola hailed the victory at Forest as 'massive' for his team's title ambitions, drawing parallels with the gritty wins that have defined their previous championship successes.

The result sets City up for a crucial start to 2026, with a trip to face Sunderland on Thursday. A win could see them go top of the table, depending on Arsenal's result against Aston Villa.

It remains to be seen if Maya Jama will make the journey to the Stadium of Light for Dias's first match of the new year, as she continues to balance her high-profile career with supporting her partner from both the home and away ends.
