Arsenal Teen Max Dowman on Verge of Breaking Phil Foden's Premier League Record

Arsenal's teenage sensation Max Dowman is closing in on a historic Premier League milestone that would surpass Manchester City's Phil Foden. The 16-year-old, who became the youngest ever Premier League goalscorer last weekend, needs just two more league appearances this season to qualify for a winners' medal.

Dowman, who turned 16 on New Year's Eve, has already made three Premier League appearances for Arsenal. If the Gunners maintain their nine-point lead at the top of the table, Dowman would become the youngest player ever to win a Premier League title, breaking Foden's record set in May 2018 when he was 17 years and 350 days old.

The Hale End academy product announced himself on the senior stage with a stunning performance against Everton last weekend. Brought on in the second half with the score at 0-0, Dowman's 89th-minute cross forced a Jordan Pickford error, leading to Viktor Gyokeres' opener. He then capped his display by running the length of the pitch to score the winner in the 97th minute, becoming the youngest Premier League goalscorer at 16 years and 73 days.

Dowman had already made history earlier this season by becoming the youngest player ever to feature in the Champions League, aged 15. He and Foden could face each other for the first time this Sunday in the Carabao Cup final.

While Foden, 25, is expected to be named in Thomas Tuchel's England squad for upcoming World Cup 2026 preparation fixtures, Dowman is likely to be omitted to protect him from the limelight at such a young age. The general consensus is that the World Cup this summer will come too soon for the Arsenal prodigy.
