Hojlund Unfazed by Man Utd's Pursuit of Sesko

Rasmus Hojlund has insisted he is not concerned by Manchester United's reported interest in RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, stating that competition for places only serves to sharpen his game. The 22-year-old Denmark international, who joined United from Atalanta for £72 million two years ago, has backed himself to prove his worth at Old Trafford.

United are reportedly pushing to sign Sesko, valued at £70 million, as well as Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins, potentially to replace Hojlund as Ruben Amorim's first-choice striker. However, Hojlund welcomed the prospect of new arrivals, saying: 'Competition is fine with me, it sharpens me. I'm more than ready. I'm feeling sharp, so I'm welcoming everything that comes.'

The forward, who scored the opener in United's 4-1 pre-season friendly win over Bournemouth in Chicago, acknowledged his struggles last season, where he managed only 10 goals in all competitions and endured a 21-game goal drought. 'I think after last season it's been a bit rough... I should have done better,' he admitted, but stressed the team is progressing under Amorim.

Hojlund also revealed the close bond he shares with United and Denmark teammate Patrick Dorgu, which has helped him cope with difficult periods. 'We have a very good relationship... me and Patrick seem a bit more equal in terms of age,' he said, contrasting this with his previous connections to older players like Christian Eriksen and Victor Lindelof.
