Liverpool forward Hugo Ekitike has posted a poignant social media message after undergoing surgery on a ruptured Achilles tendon. The 23-year-old Frenchman faces up to nine months on the sidelines following the injury sustained during Liverpool's 2-0 Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain at Anfield last week.
Manager Arne Slot confirmed the devastating diagnosis, and Ekitike has now shared a series of images on Instagram from his hospital bed. One picture shows him wearing a protective boot, while another captures him in a wheelchair.
