Carragher then turned his fury towards the manager, making a phone call and stating that Slot's continued selection of Konate was a "sackable offence." He added vehemently, "He should be sacked for that. Have they scored again, 4-1. What's this, 9 in 12?"
Klopp's Bizarrely Timed Instagram Post
As the crisis deepened for his successor, former manager Jurgen Klopp stunned fans with a post on his Instagram account. The timing was described as impeccable for all the wrong reasons, coming directly after the defeat and Carragher's very public call for Slot's dismissal.
In the video, a cheerful Klopp was seen blindly ranking traditional Thanksgiving food items. He wrote alongside the post: "Happy Thanksgiving! It’s a good reason to kick-off my preparation for the World Cup next year, and it starts with the most important topic that requires my pundit opinion: FOOD. Can’t wait to find out which stadium has the best hot dogs."
The post was seen as particularly bizarre given Klopp has been linked with a sensational return to Anfield should the club decide to part ways with Slot. The German, who is now Head of Global Soccer for the Red Bull group, has however previously ruled out a return to management.

Despite the overwhelming criticism and the club's dire form, it appears that Liverpool's hierarchy is still backing Arne Slot for now.
