Klopp's Thanksgiving Post Sparks Fury as Slot Faces Sack Calls

Carragher's Explosive Rant Demands Manager's Sacking

The pressure on Arne Slot has reached a boiling point after Liverpool suffered a humiliating 4-1 defeat to PSV Eindhoven at Anfield in the Champions League on Wednesday night. The loss marks the club's ninth defeat in 12 games this season, their worst run of form in over 70 years.

The team's defensive performance was calamitous, with key players Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, and Milos Kerkez all making critical errors that led to goals. The shocking result prompted an immediate and furious reaction from Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher.

Behind-the-Scenes Outburst Caught on Camera

While working for CBS Sport, Carragher was filmed in a behind-the-scenes clip that was later uploaded to the network's Facebook page. In the video, the former defender launches an explosive rant, first targeting out-of-form centre-back Ibrahima Konate.

He was heard exclaiming: "Oh my God, Konate. Oh my God, Konate. Watch Konate, here. Oh my God. I've f****** had enough of them, honest to God, that Konate."

Carragher then turned his fury towards the manager, making a phone call and stating that Slot's continued selection of Konate was a "sackable offence." He added vehemently, "He should be sacked for that. Have they scored again, 4-1. What's this, 9 in 12?"

Klopp's Bizarrely Timed Instagram Post

As the crisis deepened for his successor, former manager Jurgen Klopp stunned fans with a post on his Instagram account. The timing was described as impeccable for all the wrong reasons, coming directly after the defeat and Carragher's very public call for Slot's dismissal.

In the video, a cheerful Klopp was seen blindly ranking traditional Thanksgiving food items. He wrote alongside the post: "Happy Thanksgiving! It’s a good reason to kick-off my preparation for the World Cup next year, and it starts with the most important topic that requires my pundit opinion: FOOD. Can’t wait to find out which stadium has the best hot dogs."

The post was seen as particularly bizarre given Klopp has been linked with a sensational return to Anfield should the club decide to part ways with Slot. The German, who is now Head of Global Soccer for the Red Bull group, has however previously ruled out a return to management.

Where Does Liverpool Go From Here?

Despite the overwhelming criticism and the club's dire form, it appears that Liverpool's hierarchy is still backing Arne Slot for now. The Dutchman, who was crowned a Premier League champion in his first season with the club just months ago, is now under immense pressure to reverse the team's fortunes quickly.

The situation presents a complex challenge for the club, balancing the immediate disappointment of results against the longer-term project they began with Slot. With the fanbase growing restless and legends like Carragher voicing their extreme discontent, the coming weeks will be critical for the manager's future at Anfield.
