Jurgen Klopp has admitted that the new training facility of New York Red Bulls almost lured him back into management, two years after leaving Liverpool. The German, now Red Bull's Head of Global Soccer, was speaking at the official opening of the state-of-the-art complex.
"This morning was a moment when I walked in and thought 'oh that's something I could miss,' because so far I didn't miss anything since I stepped down as a manager," Klopp said. He added that the good weather nearly pushed him over the edge, joking that the poor weather saved him from making a return.
The training ground will host the Brazilian national team during the upcoming World Cup. Klopp noted that Brazil's head coach Carlo Ancelotti was keen to use the facilities without any persuasion needed. "I didn't have to convince anybody and Carlo definitely not. He knows what is good when he sees it," Klopp stated.
Meanwhile, Klopp's former club Liverpool continue with Arne Slot at the helm. Despite a difficult second season, the club is reportedly not considering a change, with Slot guiding the team close to a Champions League spot.
