Harry Kane: No European Club Could Lure Me From Bayern Munich
Kane Commits to Bayern, Critiques Premier League Style

England captain Harry Kane has emphatically declared his commitment to Bayern Munich, stating that no other club in Europe could tempt him away from the German champions.

A Contented Life in Munich

The former Tottenham striker, who is back in north London for a Champions League quarter-final clash with Arsenal, spoke openly about his future. The 32-year-old, who joined Bayern from Spurs in 2023, described the transfer as "one of the best decisions of my life".

"To experience a new league, a team like Bayern Munich, these European nights, the atmosphere in the German league, has been a great step in my career and helped me improve as a player," Kane stated. With 18 months remaining on his contract, he is open to extending his stay, adding, "The way we are right now and the way we are playing, I feel we are one of the best teams in Europe, for sure."

A Sly Dig at the Premier League

Kane, however, did not hold back in his criticism of the current state of the Premier League, indirectly targeting his old rivals Arsenal. He claimed that watching England's top flight is now "a little less enjoyable" due to the prevalent trend of goals from set-pieces.

"That's kind of the evolution of football," he conceded. "Sometimes it comes in like this and that's the case this year. Arsenal capitalised on that and are a really strong set-play team." He noted that Bayern's strategy for the big match would involve limiting the number of set-pieces they concede to the Gunners.

Scoring Against Arsenal Brings 'More Joy'

Kane also admitted that finding the net against Arsenal provides him with a unique sense of satisfaction, a feeling forged during his years with Tottenham. He has an impressive record of 15 goals in 21 appearances against the club, including one for Bayern at the Emirates in the first leg of their 2024 quarter-final.

"Maybe subconsciously that's the case," he said. "I think obviously with Tottenham, it was always a big game... There's a feeling around it. From my point of view, maybe it just gives me a little bit more joy, but ultimately it comes down to winning the game as well."
