During his time at South Florida, Hodgson achieved notable success by guiding the Bulls to their first NCAA Tournament appearance since the 2011-12 season. This performance earned USF an automatic bid to March Madness, though their campaign ended abruptly with an 83-79 loss to Louisville in the opening round.
