Gary Neville, the former Manchester United and England defender, has built a formidable business empire since retiring from football in 2011. The 51-year-old, who won 17 major honours with United, now earns millions through his punditry, real estate investments, and ownership of hotels and a football club. His YouTube channel and podcast network, led by the Stick to Football show, generate a reported turnover of £1m a month.
Neville's company Buzz 16 Productions posted revenue of £11.6m last year, with gross profits exceeding £2.1m. The company paid out £4.6m in wages and pensions. Finance Monthly estimates Neville's net worth to be between £70m and £100m, a significant rise from his highest playing contract of £1.75m per year.
Neville is married to Emma, whom he met on a night out in 2004. The couple wed in 2007 and have two daughters, Mollie and Sophie. Emma rarely appears in the public eye but made a guest appearance on Stick to Football last year, describing how they met and the adjustment to life as a footballer's wife.
In 2017, Neville abandoned plans to build an £8m carbon-neutral mansion on land near Harry Fold Farm in Greater Manchester. The futuristic design, dubbed the 'Teletubbies house', featured a petal-shaped structure built underground with a solar-panelled roof. Despite gaining planning permission, construction never began, and the land was eventually sold for £500,000 in 2020.
Neville now lives in one of four townhouses he purchased in 2021 on a street known as Manchester's millionaires' row. The property includes four bedrooms, four reception rooms, an outdoor terrace with a retractable roof, and a double garage.
