Alejandro Garnacho has been convicted of a speeding offence that occurred just days before his high-profile £40 million transfer from Manchester United to Chelsea was finalised. Garnacho subsequently pleaded guilty to the offence at Liverpool Magistrates' Court. Through his legal representatives at JMW Solicitors, he expressed remorse for his actions. 'Mr Garnacho accepts that he committed the offence of exceeding the speed limit and has pleaded guilty to the offence,' his lawyers stated. 'Mr Garnacho explains this was an oversight on his part and apologises for the offence. Our Client is embarrassed that he is currently in this position and apologises to the Court for the excess speed offence.'

The court imposed significant penalties on the footballer for his transgression. Garnacho received a £660 fine for the speeding violation, with additional costs of £120 and a victim surcharge of £264. Furthermore, three penalty points were added to his driving licence as part of the sentencing.
In addition to the speeding conviction, Garnacho faced charges for failing to respond to an official letter regarding the offence. He had been asked in October to identify the driver of the vehicle but did not provide the necessary response, compounding his legal difficulties during this transitional period in his career.
