The incident unfolded immediately after the final whistle of a fiercely contested 1-1 draw. The match saw Coventry, managed by former Chelsea star Frank Lampard, hold on for a point despite being reduced to ten men early in the second half. As tensions spilled over from the pitch, a large-scale melee involving players, substitutes, and backroom staff from both teams erupted, featuring significant pushing and shoving which left several individuals on the ground.

Both clubs have been given until Tuesday, December 30 to submit their formal responses to the governing body. The charges could result in significant fines or other sporting sanctions if the clubs are found to be in breach of FA rules regarding conduct.
