Everton Fans Furious Over Season Ticket Price Hikes

Everton's Fan Advisory Board (FAB) has expressed 'deep disappointment' over the club's new season ticket prices, which will see some supporters facing increases of nearly 10%. The group had called for a price freeze and the protection of concessionary pricing, but the club has pressed ahead with rises that are significantly higher than those announced by local rivals Liverpool.

The club has defended the increases, stating that no ticket will rise by more than £85 and that the average adult uplift will be £45. Prices for Under-11s season tickets and adults in the family area have been frozen. Everton argues that the rises are necessary to catch up with the turnover of Premier League rivals and that additional income will be invested in the playing squad.

However, the FAB criticised the decision as a 'preference for short term financial gain at the expense of loyalty'. In a statement, the group said: 'We have already made our deep disappointment clear in discussions directly with senior leadership. Despite consistent advice, insights and feedback, many of the concerns we raised on behalf of supporters have not been reflected in the final decision.'

The FAB will now survey fans to gauge their views before deciding on next steps. The group remains committed to 'constructive dialogue' with the club but warned that the increases will have a 'real impact on overall affordability' for regular match-going supporters.
