The death certificate for Todd Meadows, a star of the television series Deadliest Catch, has disclosed poignant new information about his tragic demise at sea in February. Meadows was only 25 years old when he lost his life, leaving behind a wife and three young children.

On February 25, Meadows fell overboard from the fishing vessel Aleutian Lady, which was captained by Rick Shelford and operating in the treacherous waters of the Bering Sea. Despite a frantic rescue effort by his crewmates, the young fisherman could not be saved. Deckhand Trey John Green III, aged 30, later recounted that a rescue harness snapped during the attempt, highlighting the crew's desperate struggle to aid Meadows, with Green emphasizing they did everything they could to help him.
Official Cause of Death and Aftermath
According to the death certificate, obtained by TMZ, Meadows' cause of death is listed as drowning with probable hypothermia and submersion of body in cold water. The public document confirms he was pronounced dead at 5:15 PM on February 25, categorizing the event as an accident aboard the crab vessel. Following the incident, Meadows' body was transported back to Anchorage and subsequently cremated, as noted in the certificate.
