Celtic defender Liam Scales has brushed off concerns over the club's quiet summer transfer window, expressing full confidence in the current squad as they gear up for their Champions League play-off.
The 25-year-old Irish centre-back, who impressed during his loan spell at Aberdeen last season, believes the Hoops have enough quality to compete at Europe's elite level without further reinforcements.
Scales' Confidence in Current Squad
'There's no need to panic,' Scales told reporters. 'We've got a strong group here with great depth in every position. The manager knows what he's doing, and if he feels we need additions, I'm sure they'll come.'
The comments come as Celtic prepare for their crucial Champions League qualifier against either Raków Częstochowa or Qarabağ, with the first leg scheduled for August 22 or 23.
European Experience Key
Scales, who made 35 appearances for Aberdeen last campaign, pointed to the squad's European experience as a major advantage: 'Many of the lads have played in these big matches before. That know-how could prove vital when the pressure's on.'
While rivals Rangers have been active in the transfer market, signing seven players so far, Celtic have only brought in three new faces - Marco Tilio, Odin Thiago Holm and Hyun-jun Yang.
Defensive Options Strong
The defender, who can operate at centre-back or left-back, added: 'Competition for places is fierce, especially in defence. That pushes everyone to raise their game every day in training.'
Celtic begin their Scottish Premiership title defence against Ross County on August 5 before their European commitments begin later in the month.
