Sol Campbell has warned Arsenal that Tottenham's lack of pressure could make them dangerous opponents in Sunday's north London derby at the Emirates Stadium. Despite the Gunners sitting eight points clear at the top of the Premier League, injuries have levelled the playing field, with star centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes ruled out until January and doubts over several others.
Campbell, who played for both clubs, told Football London: 'They have got nothing to lose, and that's a scary place to be in. Defenders have to counteract that and make sure they're ready because sometimes when you've got nothing to lose, you do things in certain scenarios and can surprise.'
Arsenal have won three consecutive league derbies and five of the last six, with only one defeat in the last 32 home meetings — a 3-2 loss in November 2010. However, Campbell insists the Gunners must respect their opponents' potential to upset the odds: 'If they lose two or three nil, who cares? But they might nick a 2-1 win, and that changes the whole perspective of the league.'
Gabriel's absence is a significant blow to the league's best defence, which has conceded just five goals in 11 games. Yet Campbell believes Arsenal's squad depth can maintain momentum after the international break, urging the team to 'keep this momentum going because it can go like a flash if you do not respect it.'
