The winner of BBC's Destination X has spoken out about her apparent feud with fellow contestant Saskia following the gripping finale. Judith, a 27-year-old nuclear engineer, claimed the £100,000 prize after being the first to track down presenter Rob Brydon in Rome.
Appearing on BBC Breakfast on Friday, Judith said she was still in shock. 'I'm still processing it. I felt like I went in there so far behind compared to everyone else,' she told hosts Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt. 'That was a mental thing I needed to get over.'
Addressing the tension with Saskia, Judith explained that strong personalities on the bus sometimes clashed. 'When I told everybody I was a nuclear engineer, I think that intimidated some people. Knowledge on the bus is power, and Saskia had a lot of knowledge. Withholding that knowledge also means not spending too much time with me.' She added that this dynamic led to her spending a lot of time alone on the bus.
Judith also revealed her plans for the prize money, saying she intends to travel around Asia. 'I do really want to make sure that it lasts a long time and I'll put it to good use... Be sensible,' she concluded.
