Jens Hjerto-Dahl's future remains uncertain as Tromso sporting director Lars Petter Kræmer-Andressen insists the club is in no rush to sell the 20-year-old playmaker, with Cardiff City and Rangers both vying for his signature.
Kræmer-Andressen confirmed that no deal has been completed yet, stating the club is waiting to see what other bids come in. The Light Blues had been battling with the Welsh side for Hjerto-Dahl, with reports in Norway suggesting Rangers saw a £5.3million bid rejected earlier this month.
In recent days, Cardiff have reportedly tabled an offer worth over 100 million Norwegian kroner (£7.8million) including bonuses, with around 80 million NOK (£6.2million) up front. Tromso have set their asking price at £8.5million.
Director's comments on the transfer
Speaking to the Nordly's FireFireBlod podcast, Kræmer-Andressen said: "It can definitely happen. We talked about it last winter too: In theory, four players could leave. It's always difficult to find the right timing: When can we sell and when should we keep them? TIL [Tromso] and Cardiff have had a dialogue over a period of time. At the same time, there should be other clubs that are close to the situation, and that means you don't want to rush into any decision. Nothing has been decided."
The 6ft 4" playmaker had conceded that the Europa League qualifier against FC Hradec Králové could be his last game for the club, but ahead of the second leg, the transfer chief indicated he could still be on the books this summer.

After missing a penalty in the 1-0 defeat to Hradec, Hjerto-Dahl said: "If this was my last game, I hope I have done other things apart from that penalty miss that people will remember. If something happens, all the information will come out, but right now I have to keep my focus on Tromso. I will contribute as long as I can and I'm already looking forward to the return leg next week. I hope I can play in that. Hopefully I have done other things at the club that will stay in fans' minds. I hit a bad penalty, but these things happen."
