The Seagulls have maintained a long-standing interest in the 19-year-old German international and are now striving to secure his signature before other clubs can intervene. It is understood that Brighton made a discreet and undisclosed approach for the attacker during the January transfer window, but this was rejected by their Bundesliga counterparts.
Competition and Contract Details
A number of clubs from both home and abroad are threatening to muscle in on the deal, with Chelsea, Newcastle United, and Tottenham Hotspur among the latest teams credited as admirers of El Mala. This heightened competition has prompted Brighton to intensify their pursuit of the winger's services.
