Bournemouth have confirmed that Marco Rose will replace Andoni Iraola as head coach this summer. Iraola is stepping down at the end of his contract, and Rose has signed a three-year deal, marking his first Premier League role.
The German has been out of work since leaving RB Leipzig in March 2025. He previously managed Borussia Dortmund, where he coached Erling Haaland and Jude Bellingham, and also led Red Bull Salzburg, Borussia Mönchengladbach, and RB Leipzig. His high-intensity pressing style is expected to suit Bournemouth.
In a statement, the club said: “The 49-year-old arrives on the south coast with a wealth of experience at the highest level of European football. The club’s immediate focus remains firmly on finishing the current campaign as strongly as possible, with the players and staff continuing to show full commitment to achieving positive results and building on the current 13-game unbeaten run.”
Iraola has five matches remaining and could lead Bournemouth into Europe for the first time. They are level on points with sixth-placed Chelsea.
