A Buffalo Bills fan has been hit with an indefinite ban from Highmark Stadium after a shocking pitch invasion that culminated in him shoving NFL superstar Lamar Jackson.
The astonishing incident occurred during the Bills' pre-season clash with the Baltimore Ravens, when the supporter leapt onto the field and made a beeline for the quarterback before pushing him.
In a statement released to the press, the Buffalo Bills organisation confirmed the lifetime ban and strongly condemned the individual's "unacceptable behaviour".
The team emphasised that the safety of players, officials, and spectators is their absolute highest priority, stating: "We will not tolerate any actions that compromise the safety of anyone at our stadium."
The fan, whose identity has not been publicly disclosed, now faces potential criminal charges as local authorities review the incident. This breach of security raises serious questions about stadium protocols just weeks before the new NFL season kicks off.
Lamar Jackson, the 2019 NFL MVP, was unharmed and continued playing after the altercation. The Ravens went on to secure a 24-18 victory in the pre-season fixture.
