Vinicius Junior Hints He Prefers Real Madrid Stay Over Arsenal Move

Vinicius Junior has indicated he would rather remain at Real Madrid than join Arsenal, despite being linked with a move to the newly-crowned Premier League champions. The Brazilian winger, who has entered the final 12 months of his contract at the Bernabeu, is yet to agree fresh terms, leaving Real with a choice between selling him or risking a free transfer next year.

The 26-year-old, widely regarded as one of the world's best players, has previously expressed his desire to stay in the Spanish capital. In comments made earlier this year, Vinicius told Mundo Deportivo: 'I want to stay here for the rest of my life, but I'm still not in a hurry to renew my contract.' He added that he enjoys every moment at the club, which he described as his 'dream club'.

Vinicius impressed during the World Cup, scoring four goals in five games before Brazil were eliminated by Norway in the round of 16. Last season, he registered 22 goals for Real Madrid despite the club failing to win any trophies for the second consecutive year.

Arsenal have reportedly 'approved' a potential swoop for the forward as they seek to add a left-sided attacker. However, Vinicius's comments suggest he is content in Madrid, where he has become one of the team's captains.
