Angry Ginge, real name Morgan Burtwistle, has announced he will wear a black armband during today's Match for Hope charity football game in Qatar as a tribute to his late cousin. The I'm a Celebrity star shared the news on Instagram on January 30, explaining that his cousin Harley McNulty passed away earlier this month at the age of 19.
In a video posted to his Instagram story, Burtwistle said: 'I will be wearing a black arm band like footballers do when you lose someone. Two weeks ago, one of my cousins Harley passed away, he was only 19 and a Manchester lad. So I'm wearing the arm band for him, for his family.' He also encouraged followers to donate to a GoFundMe page set up to help cover funeral expenses.
The fundraiser, organised by Chanel Dillion, a close friend of Harley's mother, has already raised over £16,000. Dillion described Harley as 'the life and soul of the party' and 'an amazing son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend'. The page aims to give Harley 'the best day possible'.
The Match for Hope 2026 is being held at the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium in Qatar, bringing together online creators and football legends to raise money for educational and charitable initiatives, including the Education Above All Foundation. Burtwistle, 24, is participating in the event.
