Tyson Fury has described being left 'terrified' after the private jet he was travelling on with his family was forced to make an emergency landing due to a mechanical issue mid-flight. The retired heavyweight boxing champion, 37, was flying with his wife Paris, 35, and their seven children shortly after renewing their wedding vows for a third time in France.
The aircraft had travelled approximately 100 miles before the pilot alerted passengers to a malfunction involving one of the wings. Speaking on Instagram Stories, Fury recounted the moment: 'The captain's come over to me and said, we've got to turn this plane around because there's a problem with one of the wings and it won't fix on the computer.'
Fury, who has been open about his struggles with anxiety and mental health, admitted the situation deeply unsettled him. 'Talk about totally sh***ing yourself. So we're now spinning the plane around and going back to the airport where we started. Terrifying,' he added, visibly shaken in footage from inside the cabin.
The incident occurred shortly after the couple celebrated a significant personal milestone. They renewed their vows in an intimate ceremony in the South of France, attended only by their children. Paris wore a white bespoke gown by Self-Portrait, while Tyson opted for a cream shirt and white shorts. Sharing photos on Instagram, Fury said: 'Paris Fury and I got married again; third time lucky. We had the most beautiful day in the South of France.'
