Tartan Army Praised for Uniting with Morocco Fans

The Tartan Army has been praised for their good-natured sportsmanship after joining forces with Morocco fans in Boston ahead of tonight's World Cup match. The Scotland supporters have been making friends everywhere they go in Boston, even welcoming their opponents to join in their celebrations.

Fans Unite in Boston

Reports of the Scotland fans' infectious energy have been shared widely over the past week, and they have now been applauded for 'putting the world to rights'. In a video shared outside Hennessy's Bar in Boston, members of the Tartan Army could be seen passionately jumping up and down together in a huge crowd, chanting and waving their fists in the air. Among them were groups of Moroccan fans waving their flags, who joined the party.

The meet-up comes just hours before Scotland's second World Cup match against Morocco tonight at Boston Stadium. Scotland currently tops Group C after their 1-0 win against Haiti last weekend, while Morocco drew with Brazil. It is a huge night for Scotland, as another victory could see them potentially qualify for the knockout stages for the first time in World Cup history.

Social Media Reaction

The clip of the fans uniting was shared on Instagram, and social media users were delighted to see their friendly interaction. One wrote: 'I especially love how fun and beautifully respectful it’s been after the matches as well, just amazing Scotland putting the world to rights.' Another chimed in: 'That’s what it’s about.'

Friendship Beyond Morocco

The Moroccans are not the only friends the Tartan Army have made. Boston locals have been begging them to stay in the city forever, as Mayor Michelle Wu announced a deal to become sister-cities with Glasgow. Scots have also been seen celebrating with Norway after their 4-1 win against Iraq on Tuesday. The Tartan Army joined the Norwegian fans in the street to perform their famous Viking Row, mimicking the motion of rowing backwards and shouting 'Ro! Ro!' in unison while swaying. A blonde man in a viking hat, known as Mr Row Row Row online, sat at the top of the makeshift boat, leading the chant by banging on a small drum as those passing by filmed the heartwarming moment.

The celebrations will not die down anytime soon, as Scotland's return to Boston Stadium is now just hours away. Scotland's match against Morocco will kick off at 6pm EST tonight and air on the BBC live at 11pm BST. Next week, they face Brazil at Miami Stadium on Wednesday for the final game before the knockout stages begin.
