The incident occurred on Sunday morning as the participant completed the 13.1-mile course, only to suffer a sudden medical emergency upon finishing. Despite the immediate response from event medical teams and paramedics, the man could not be revived.

London Ambulance Service confirmed they were called at approximately 10:20 AM to reports of a person in cardiac arrest. Multiple resources were dispatched to the scene, including an incident response officer, advanced paramedics, and an ambulance crew.
"We treated a man at the scene," a spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service stated. "Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, he was later pronounced dead."
