Correction: Compass Group Description Error in Print Edition
Correction: Compass Group Error in Print

The Guardian has issued a correction regarding a print article that described the centre-left pressure group Compass as 'Labour-affiliated'. The error appeared in the article 'Burnham’s long and winding road to his overnight success' published on 27 June, page 16.

Error Details

According to the correction notice, Compass was initially founded in 2003 exclusively for Labour party members. However, since 2011, its membership has been open to all individuals who support progressive policies, regardless of party affiliation. The description 'Labour-affiliated' was therefore inaccurate and appeared only in the print edition.
